Regents Opera BUMPER May Newsletter: WOZZECK, DON GIOVANNI, DER RING, STRAUSS ALPINE SYMPHONY

Dear All,

Back in the second week of April I wrote to you all with the news of the change of dates and venue for the Ring - thanks to your patience and the incredible efforts of our box office manager Theo and our producer, CJ the epic task of the ticket transfers is now completed, so we can get on with all of the operatic business as usual, so this massive missive gives you an update on everything else we have on offer!

Alban Berg: Wozzeck - Orchestral Study weekend 10th-11th May

Next weekend (10th and 11th May), we will be exploring and experiencing Berg’s remarkable opera, Wozzeck.

If you are a string player and would like to get involved, please get in touch with Jon Cooley to book your place!

We will be running through the opera (I wouldn’t dream of calling it a performance…) at 6pm on Sunday 11th May. This will take place at Dulwich Hamlet Junior School, Dulwich Village, SE21 7AL. Observers are welcome; as ever we ask for a £10 donation (or more if you are feeling generous) to help with the costs of running these events. There will be a small reception for Friends of Regents Opera before and after the run-through.

Don Giovanni at Hoxton Hall SATURDAY 29th June

Don Giovanni Tickets are now on sale!

Our summer touring production of Don Giovanni has a London performance at Hoxton Hall on Saturday 29th June.  Starring Oliver Gibbs in the title role, and with Christine Buras as Donna Anna, Isolde Roxby (pictured) as Donna Elvira and with Justine Viani as Zerlina, this will be by turns hilarious, seductive, and menacing. Accompanied by a chamber ensemble in this lovely, intimate music hall venue, tickets are a very reasonable £30/35 with a £5 pound discount available if you book prior to Monday 3rd June using the code REGENTSOPERA.
